If so, you might be eligible to participate in the Youth Eco Internship Program. This exciting program offered by the YMCA Canada, and the YWCA Canada will place up to 1000 unemployed young Canadians on paid three to twelve month internships with not-for-profit, charitable, cooperative and/or voluntary organizations across Canada.

Eligibility Information
Potential Interns must meet the following criteria:
- between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- unemployed;
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and,
- legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
Eligible organizations are not-for-profit, cooperative and voluntary organizations, such those representing various communities of interest, including:
- churches and religious organizations;
- community groups, charitable and voluntary organizations;
- associations of workers and/or employers as well as professional, industrial and occupational organizations;
- boards of trade and chambers of commerce;
- labour-management and adjustment committees;
- bands, tribal councils and other Aboriginal organizations established on a “not-for-profit” basis;
- ad hoc groups established on a “not-for-profit” basis, including groups representing clients; and,
- co-operatives recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as registered charities and non-profit organizations pursuant to paragraph 149 (1) (f) and (l) of the Income Tax Act.
