Application Process

Post-secondary schools receive thousands of applications each year. It is your responsibility to ensure that your application is properly filled out and that all program admission requirements are satisfied. To ensure that your application is processed as quickly as possible, we have provided you with a few recommendations below.

The Basics:

  • Visit each school’s Web site for a list of programs and admission requirements.

  • Be aware that admission requirements may vary depending on your application status: regular, mature, international or part-time student.

  • Contact the school you are applying to and discuss any questions or concerns that you may have regarding your application. They are familiar with the process and will be able to help you through it.

  • Create a check list of admission requirements and required documentation to ensure that your application is complete. You may want to enlist the help of a guidance counselor or career advisor to ensure that your application is filled out properly.

  • Be aware that application deadlines vary depending on the institution you’ve chosen to attend. Ask by what date the decision regarding your application should be made and when you should expect to receive confirmation.

  • Be aware that you must formally accept an offer to a program and then advise the school. Without your confirmation your spot in the program may be forfeited.
