Services for youth on Facebook

Posted by Rob on September 3, 2013

For many of you, today is the first day back to school! Happy First Day! I always loved the first day back to school—meeting new people; reuniting with old friends; and looking forward to new experiences, a new routine and the satisfaction of knowing you’re one step closer to graduation.

As you progress through this academic year and beyond, I hope you continue to use youth.gc.ca as your portal to everything career-, job- and education-related.

I also want to draw your attention to a complementary service that you may find helpful along the way: Services for Youth is a Facebook page where students and young workers can ask general questions about career planning, post-secondary education and finding a job. We’ve had great success so far, and have responded to many questions and comments.

Want to find some labour market information about a career you might be considering? Or, do you have a question about cover-letter or résumé writing? How about some advice on exams, or study tips from other students and recent graduates? You can find it all on our Facebook page.

You will also find fun weekly tips to help you prepare for job interviews, information about in-demand jobs, and advice about everyday life and getting involved in your community.

Our community officers, including me, are on Facebook waiting to answer your questions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. So check us out and ask us a question, share your story, or leave a comment.

See you there!
